"Obscured by Leaves" is our second release of 2014, following "Trudge". On "Obscured by Leaves" we continued to challenge ourselves to create new music. This CD introduces new instrumentation for us. Warren has been experimenting with a home made cajon as well as playing the double bass. Both instruments have made their way on to various tracks found here. At the same time, Mark has been making increasing use of the wide range of iPad related music apps to create sounds using either the pad itself or connected devices. It is an interesting and unintentional juxtaposition between the acoustic vs electric nature of our interests. In addition several tracks include loops that are played out of time with the rest of the track providing a sense of movement and change but also a sense of uncertainty and randomness. 

The interesting part is taking these new elements and then forging our music with them. We rarely discuss what we will each bring to a new song leaving both of us free to interpret the song in our own way. Yet we play live to the tracks thus creating the music together.
